ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a Turkish government building in Ankara on Sunday.
On Sunday, at least one person was killed and two others were injured in a bombing attack outside Turkey’s Interior Ministry building in Ankara.
“Pakistani nation and its government sympathize and express solidarity with the brotherly Country of Turkiye,” President Arif Alvi said in a statement on Monday.
“Terrorists are enemies of peace and humanity, and I am sure that Turkiye would eliminate the threat of terrorism under the dynamic leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” he said.
Meanwhile, Turkish authorities have detained 20 people with alleged links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group that claimed responsibility for Sunday’s suicide bombing of a government building in Ankara.
Earlier, the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar also strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack in Ankara.
In a post on X, he said that Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with its Turkish brothers and sisters in the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
The prime minister said he has no doubt that under the dynamic leadership of brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the resolute Turkish nation will emerge ever stronger from this challenge.
