KABUL: President Mamnoon Hussain arrived in Kabul on Thursday at the invitation of the Afghan President Hamid Karzai to participate in the quadrilateral summit.
This is first visit to Afghanistan since taking office in September last year. He is accompanied by Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, and other senior officials.
The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Tajikistan President Emomalii Rahmon are also attending the event.
The president will meet with the Afghan and other counterparts to discuss various regional and global issues of interest.
Hussain will also participate in the Nawroz festival. The leaders from the region, in particular from Central and West Asia, have also been invited by the Afghan government to attend the Nawroz celebrations.
