ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain Monday stressed greater emphasis on promoting research culture in the universities to promote creativity and innovation.
Talking to Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, he said research culture would take the country forward and help achieve economic prosperity.
The President said the government was committed to promote higher education in the country.
However, he added that education cannot be complete without character building of the younger generation and asked the HEC Chairman to further improve the standard of education.
The President hoped that efforts of HEC would generate skillful human resource and play a crucial role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Chairman HEC briefed the President about matters relating to the organisation and its future programmes.
