ISLAMABAD: The outgoing President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan Peoples Party will continue to support the democratic forces to strengthen democracy in the country.
Addressing a reception in Lahore on Sunday evening after departure from the Aiwan-e-Sadr‚ Asif Ali Zardari said that he will stand by Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to defeat those forces that wanted to weaken the country.
The President said that during his tenure he strengthened the parliament and empowered the women folk of the country. He said he had set a history by ensuring smooth transition of power from one democratic government to the other.
He said that some forces do not want democracy to get strong in the country but we will work for this cause. Asif Ali Zardari said that he will fully participate in the politics of the country and will remain in contact with the masses.
