ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Cabinet has decided to reduce prices of 89 medicines by 15 percent, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Dr Zafar Mirza told.
In a Press Conference along with the Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon, Dr Zafar Mirza said that the Federal Cabinet reviewed the price of medicines, and made the above decision Under the Medicines Pricing Policy 2018.
Dr Zafar Mirza said that the prices of life saving medicines have also been reduced.
Firdous Ashiq Awan briefed the media that the Federal Cabinet, which met in Islamabad today with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair and reviewed overall economic and political affairs of the Country, accorded its approval to 21 points of the agenda.
The Special Assistant on Information told that the Cabinet decided to provide relief to the residents of Line of Control (LoC). She said that the LoC dwellers will be provided relief through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Dr Firdous further told that an approval was also given to the appointment on deputation of General Manager from Pakistan Navy to Karachi Port Trust.
In addition, the Cabinet also approved the amendments in rules and restructuring of the Board of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The Federal Cabinet, Dr Firdous further told, also made a unanimous decision that the name of Maryam Nawaz will not be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).
