LAHORE, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday launched the ‘Naya Pakistan Sehat Card’ in Punjab under the all-encompassing welfare programme ‘Naya Pakistan – Sub K Leye’.
Under the Prime Minister’s vision of a welfare state and Universal Health Programme, like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, every family of Punjab will be provided Naya Pakistan Sehat Card to get free medical facilities.
The Sehat Card will enable every family to avail healthcare facilities up to Rs 1 million.
The medical facilities also include treatment of serious diseases including cancer, kidney transplantation, heart, diabetics, and accidents.
In his address at the Launching Ceremony of Naya Pakistan Health Card in Punjab at Governor’s House in Lahore, Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and the Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid for launching the Naya Pakistan Health Card Programme in the province.
The prime minister said that the decision to launch the Naya Pakistan Health Insurance Programme was taken in sympathy of poor segments of society.
Imran Khan said that 30 million Health Cards will be distributed among all families in the Punjab province within three months, starting from Lahore in January next year.
The prime minister said that Rs 440 billion will be spent on the Health Card Programme in three years. He said that due to the programme, the private sector will be encouraged to invest in the healthcare sector and hospitals will be set up in every backward area.

Furthermore, he said that every possible step is being taken to facilitate the public during price hike time.
Imran Khan said that Ehsaas Ration Card will be provided to half the population of Pakistan with every family whose monthly income is below Rs 50,000 and they will get a 30 percent discount on flour, pulses, and sugar from Karyana stores. He said that 6.2 million scholarships are being provided to youth worth Rs 47 billion to encourage deserving students from poor families.
