ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to visit Qatar in January 2019, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said on Thursday.

In his weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Dr Faisal said that dates of the prime minister’s Qatar visit will be decided mutually.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan is embarking on a two-day official visit to Turkey today at the invitation of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Imran Khan will reach the Turkish City of Konya at 4:00 pm today. He will visit Molana Romi and Atatruk Museum.

The prime minister will address to the business community and investors in Ankara. He will hold one-on-one meeting with the Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after offering Jumma Salat in Millat mosque.

The two leaders will hold a Joint Press Conference after their meeting.

The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who will accompany Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Turkey, will also hold a meeting with his Turkish Counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Further briefing the media in Islamabad, Dr Faisal also said that Pakistan is looking forward to positive engagement with the United States at the leadership level.

His remarks came in response to a statement made by the US President Donald Trump that he looks forward to meet the new Pakistani leadership.

The Spokesperson said that Donald Trump’s remarks are indeed a departure from his January 1, 2018 tweet.
