The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) is an autonomous body set up through 1991 Act. It is significantly contributing toward poverty alleviation through its various poorest of the poor focused services and providing assistance to destitute, widow, orphan, invalid, infirm & other needy persons, as per eligibly criteria approved by Bait-ul-Mal Board.

Currently the PBM is running following projects/schemes for poverty alleviation:

Dar-ul-Ehsaas:

The PBM has established 50 Dar-ul-Ehsaas (orphanages) across Pakistan. The total number of orphans aged 4-6 in these Dar-ul­Ehsaas is 5,000.

Women Empowerment Centers (WEC):

The PBM has established 155 WEC to provide free professional training to women. The total numbers of trainees in WEC are 13,231.

Schools for Rehabilitation of Child Labor (SRCL):

The PBM has established 159 SRCL to provide free education to labor children. Total numbers students in SRCL are 18,375.

Great Home for Senior Citizens:

A great Home has been established in Lahore to house poor senior citizens. As many as 43 senior citizens are residing in a Great Home.

Child Support Program:

The PBM is also running the CSP program in seven districts and the number of beneficiaries are 28,462.

Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) Schemes:

The PBM is also helping in poverty reduction through its IFA schemes. So far 28,452 numbers of beneficiaries during the Financial Year (FY) 2018-19 have been benefited (IFA Medical = 22,320, IFA Education = 3,062 & IFA General = 1,961 and Special Friends = 1,109).
