ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) would enhance activities in sports tourism which would attracted a large number of tourists from different parts of the world.
“There was lot more opportunities in sport tourism in Pakistan,” the Managing Director PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said while talking to the state-run news agency in Islamabad.
The MD PTDC said that mostly people travel for sports, recreation, cultural and heritage, religious, adventure or business purposes in the world.
“Pakistan was best for different sports which were not available in many countries of the world,” he said.
Abdul Ghafoor said that there were several regional sporting events held every year in different parts of the country, adding that these sporting events were center of attraction for the tourists from different parts of the world and provide them maximum level of joy and happiness.
The managing director expressed the hope that events like Pakistan super league (PSL) would strengthen tourism industry.
The PTDC managing director said that Pakistan was known as a paradise for the golfers and there were around 45 golf clubs of world standard in the country.
Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that Pakistan has been blessed with natural beauty, rich and thousands of year’s old cultures and amazing human talent in every aspect of life.
From the mountain ranges of Karakorum and Himalayas in tourism, to total dominance in sports like cricket, hockey and squash are just a few hallmarks for Pakistan from its long list of amazing and unique traits,” he said.
The MD PTDC said that the Corporation PTDC has initiated a series of projects to help restore and promote tourism nationally and internationally.
