ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development corporation (PTDC) Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan said the PTDC was is planning to transform and re-shape Tourist Information Centres (TICs) on modern line.

Talking to the state-run news agency in Islamabad, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan said these Centres would be refurnished with modern facilities and equipment with attractive outlook with a view to portray tourism face of the Country.

The managing director said the PTDC was in process of development of centralized booking and reservation system for all PTDC facilities spread throughout the Country.

Chaudhry Ghafoor directed all the officer and staff that all tourist visiting TICs might be provided according to their need and comfort.

The MD PTDC said all the 14 PTDC Tourist Information Centers located across the Country would be upgraded and the federal government had assured its full support in this regard.

The managing director PTDC said Tourist Information Centers were the face of tourism industry which was required to be uplifted.

Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said the PTDC also planned to rename TICs as Tourism Promotion Centres. He said the PTDC was considering to set up a TIC in Khewra, adding that a modern High tech Tourist Information Centre would be established at new under constructed Islamabad Airport.

The managing director said efforts were underway to setup new TICs at other airports as well.

The visiting tourists would also be provided with the facility of hotel and transport booking upon arrival at the airport, he added.
