ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the election result of Mianwali’s NA-71 as it filed a petition on Tuesday in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against alleged rigging in the said National Assembly constituency.
In the petition, the PTI asked the ECP to declare the election result null and void and order the concerned authorities to order the verification of thumb impressions of voters. Moreover, it demanded the ECP to check the record of ballot papers.
The PTI also submitted a CD and documentary evidence.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate had won the seat from NA-71 in the by-election held on August 22.
