ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson vehemently rejected the Law Ministry’s notification to hold PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s trial in Adiala jail in the Cipher Case, insisting that the case against PTI chairman should be heard in an open court.
In a statement on Tuesday, the PTI Spokesperson said that the Ministry of Law’s notification regarding holding the trial in jail was a sheer violation of fair trial, which would not be acceptable come what may.
The Spokesperson pointed out that the fabricated and fake cipher case was being conducted in a special manner from the registration of the case till today. He underlined that Article 10-A of the Constitution gave every citizen the right to a fair hearing.
Further, he went on to say that like Toshakhana Case, the trial of the fabricated cipher case was also being carried forward in a very hasty manner.
The PTI Spokesman stressed the need that the notification of the trial in jail should be withdrawn immediately and the case against the Chairman and Vice Chairman of PTI should be heard in an open court.
The Spokesperson demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan should take notice of the attempts to make Imran Khan and Qureshi a target of political retribution through the court by depriving them of the fundamental constitutional right to a fair trial.
The PTI Spokesperson stated that the PTI believed in supremacy of constitution and upholding rule of law in the Country.
