ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) fully believes in transparency in elections; therefore, it has been emphasizing on open ballot in the Senate elections.

Talking to the media at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, he said that the Opposition parties are supporting secret ballot in the elections because they have the agenda of corruption.

The information minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to eliminate corruption from the Country.

Senator Shibli Faraz said the Opposition’s drama of camera in the polling both in the Senate has been exposed.

Meanwhile in a tweet, the minister said the Opposition’s sinister plan of cameras in polling booth has been exposed.

The minister said that the opposition used criminal tactics in the Senate Elections 2021 in the National Assembly where they converted majority into minority that is why the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) opposed the open ballot. He said that the era of loot and plunder is taking last breath.

The Upper House of the Parliament – Senate – will elect its new Chairman and Deputy Chairman later in the day.

The Joint Candidate of the ruling alliance Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has submitted nomination papers for the slot of Chairman Senate while Mirza Muhammad Afridi submitted nomination papers for the slot of Deputy Chairman Senate.

Similarly, Joint Candidates of the Opposition Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri have also filed their nomination papers.
