Islamabad, Pakistan: Imran Khan refrained from leaving Bani Gala to reach Lal Havali Rawalpindi on Friday.
According to details, the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with party head Imran Khan refrained from leaving Bani Gala party headquarters in Islamabad to reach Lal Havali Rawalpindi on Friday.
PTI decided to hold public meeting on Friday at the residence of Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed that is known as Lal Havali in Rawalpindi
Meanwhile, Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed while riding on a motorbike reached Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi at afternoon despite a heavy contingent of police was deployed in various places to arrest him. He reached Committee Chowk, addressed his workers and left the place with ease and without his arrest. All roads in and around of Lal Havali area were closed down by district administration by placing huge containers.
The decision of PTI of staying inside Bani Gala indicates that PTI top leadership avoided direct confrontation with district administration of Islamabad while its workers were asked by leadership to protest all over the country against police action taken by Islamabad on Thursday evening against PTI workers in E-11 sector of federal capital.
While talking to media at Bani Gala residence, Chief of PTI Imran Khan said that his party would surely hold public gathering in Islamabad on November 2, 2016 and promised with media to lead November 2 public rally.
Meanwhile, PTI workers did not stage protests all over the country except Lahore although Imran Khan directed them on Thursday night to hold protests all over the country against arrest of PTI workers in Islamabad.
PTI held protests at four places in Lahore mostly in downtown including Muzang and Shimla Pahari.
On the other hand, Rawalpindi experienced show-down between AML workers and local administration where hundreds of AML workers kept engaging with local administration despite of heavy use of tear gas in Committee Chowk. Workers and police were engaged with each other till the filing of this report. However, no worker of AML was injured while over 200 were arrested by police.
