ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed petitions in the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the formation of a Judicial Commission to inquire into the attack on the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The PTI Senators including the Leader of opposition in Senate Dr. Shahzad Waseem and Senator Shibli Faraz reached the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad on Monday and filed the petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973 for the constitution of a Judicial Commission to probe into the assassination plot of the Chairman PTI Imran Khan and failure to register the First Information Report (FIR), the brutal killing of journalist Arshad Sharif, and illegal recording of Senator Azam Swati.
In the petition, it was stated that the above-mentioned events constitute the matter of grave public importance with reference to the enforcement of fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution of Pakistan.
Therefore, the Supreme Court of Pakistan is requested to urgently form a Judicial Commission to probe into these grave matters of public importance.
The similar petitions were also filed in the Supreme Court’s Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta’s Registry.

In Lahore Registry, the petition was submitted by Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Usman Buzdar, Shafqat Mahmood and other PTI leaders.
Likewise, the Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mahmood Jan Khan and Provincial Ministers including Atif Khan, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Kamran Khan Bangash, Dr. Amjad, and Women MPAs submitted the request in the Supreme Court’s Peshawar Registry.
