ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has again demanded a high-powered judicial commission to probe the Cypher ‘comprehensively and make its findings public’.

“We reiterate our demand that a high-powered judicial commission should be constituted to investigate the (Cypher) issue comprehensively and make its findings public,” the PTI Spokesperson said on Thursday.

The PTI Spokesperson said that the Cypher Story, which is now available in the public domain, has irrevocably established the credibility and justness of the stance that the former Prime Minister and the Chairman PTI Imran Khan has repeatedly reiterated regarding the developments leading up to the removal of his constitutional and democratic government through a contrived vote of no confidence.

The Spokesperson said that at the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) that Imran Khan convened to discuss the matter, it was concluded that the cypher communication “amounted to blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan by the Country in question which was unacceptable under any circumstances”.

The NSC also decided that Pakistan will serve a strong demarche to the Country in question, both in Islamabad and the country’s capital through proper channel in keeping with diplomatic norms”.

The subsequent meeting of the NSC presided over by the then Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif “reaffirmed the decisions of the previous NSC meeting”.

The PTI Spokesperson said that from denying the cypher’s existence to calling it meaningless to blaming Imran Khan for making it public, the ruling clique took one somersault after the other to mitigate its importance and relevance.

It is important that the cypher debate should now be put in its right perspective and acknowledge that an intervention in Pakistan’s internal affairs had indeed taken place which led to the moving of a vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Spokesperson noted.
