ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to resign from the National Assembly and three provincial assemblies, the PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a press conference on Monday.
However, he said, that the party has not yet taken any decision regarding resignations from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
Qureshi said that all members of the National and provincial assemblies have handed over their resignations to the party leadership.
The PTI senior leader said that the decision regarding resignations from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly will be taken after consultations with the coalition partners in the province.
The activists of the PTI have been holding a protest rally in Islamabad for the last five days while the party Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday night gave the federal government a 48-hour deadline to meet his demands and also announced to launch the civil disobedience movement.
Jamshed Dasti also announces to resign from NA
Meanwhile, the independent member of the National Assembly from Muzaffargarh Jamshed Dasti also announced to resign from the lower house of the parliament and handed over his resignation to Imran Khan.
