LAHORE/KARACH: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday submitted two separate resolutions in Punjab and Sindh assemblies condemning US drone strikes, and demanding closure of NATO supply to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) also submitted a resolution against drone attacks in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly secretariat.

The resolution was submitted by the JUI-F parliamentary leader Maulana Lutfur Rahman.

The PTI chairman Imran Khan, whose party rules the restive northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, demanded the government to block NATO supplies going through the country into Afghanistan after a US drone strike killed Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud and his close aides in North Waziristan tribal region on Friday.

Imran blamed the US for sabotaging efforts to establish peace in Pakistan by repetitive drone strikes in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

“Whenever initiative of peace talks are taken in the country, US drone strikes sabotage them,” he said.

The PTI chief said his party would not only table a resolution for blocking NATO supplies in the provincial assemblies but in the National Assembly also.
