ABU DHABI: Pakistan did not have a good start against England when its batsmen went to bat in the first innings of the first Test match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday morning.
The first match of three-match Test series between Pakistan and England is being telecast live by PTV Sports. Earlier Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.
But its opening batsmen Shan Masood got out when the total score was only 5 runs. His individual score was just 2 and was bowled by England’s JM Anderson.
Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik were batting while the team score was 28 at the time of filing of this report.
For the first Test, Pakistan were forced to be deprived of leg-spinner Yasir Shah and right-hand middle-order batsman Azhar Ali due to injuries.
Likewise, fast bowler Steven Finn were not available for England after he suffered injury to his left foot. Pakistan is playing with seven specialist batsmen, three fast bowlers and one spinner in the inaugural match of the bilateral series.
Shoaib Malik has been included in Test squad after five years. He has scored 1616 runs in 32 Test matches, he has played for Pakistan.
“I will try to use my experience in this series,” the 33-year-old Malik said after he made comeback in Pakistan Test squad.
