Just ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Dubai on Sunday, both these teams will appear in the last Super 4 game at the same venue tonight.
After the finalists having already been decided, any result of today’s match won’t really matter in the context of the tournament. Except the extra confidence and psychological advantage, today’s winner would carry with themselves to the final.
Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka didn’t kick off their respective Asia Cup 2022 campaigns with victories. Pakistan lost to India in their opening match whereas Sri Lanka was thrashed by Afghanistan.
However, they bounced back and won their respective following three matches in a row to reach the final.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Head to Head in T20Is
In the past, Pakistan won 13 T20 Internationals and lost 8 against Sri Lanka from 2007 to 2019. But the last three T20Is between them played in October 2019 at Lahore were won by Sri Lanka.
Prior to that, Pakistan had been carrying a winning streak of 6 T20Is against Sri Lanka since July 2015.
For today’s match, both teams are likely to rest some of their players such as Sri Lanka may rest Wanindu Hasaranga and while Pakistan may have Hasan Ali and Usman Qadir in their playing XI in replacement of Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan.
Earlier last night, India beaten Afghanistan by 101 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Virat Kohli’s 122 runs innings off 61 balls guided India to post a massive total of 212 for 2 on the board while batting first.
But the Afghan batting line up managed to score only 111 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in full stipulated overs.
India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 5-wicket haul by conceding just 4 runs in his 4 overs.
