The match is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST), and will be telecast live by PTV Sports.
Earlier in the three-match Test series, Pakistan beat England by 2-0, climbing to No 2 position in ICC Test rankings.
Pakistan has not lost a single home Test series since last eight years and occupies an excellent position in the Test rankings issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC). However unlike Test matches, Pakistan’s recent performance in one day internationals (ODIs) is not worth admiring.
Currently, Pakistan is ranked 8th in ICC ODI rankings and keens to perform much better to beat England if the former has to improve its 50-over game rankings. Specially, when only eight top teams in ICC ODI rankings as of September 30, 2017 will be eligible to qualify for the 2019 World Cup to be held in England.
England is placed at 6th position in ODI rankings at the moment and since it will host the 2019 World Cup, therefore the English side will automatically qualify for the mega event regardless of its ranking position.
Not only England presently possesses higher position in ODI rankings as compared to Pakistan, its performance against green shirts in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is also exceptional.
The two sides have so far played nine ODIs in UAE against each other, of which England won seven while Pakistan just secured victory in two ODIs.
Last time when the two sides met in UAE in 2012, England whitewashed Pakistan 4-0.
The veteran batsman Younis Khan has been recalled in Pakistan’s one-day squad against England. He has not played any ODI for Pakistan since 2015 World Cup.
