LAHORE: The President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday criticized the formation of caretaker governments in Sindh and Balochistan through collusion, saying this is a first step towards rigging and making the polls dubious, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported

Talking to media persons in Lahore on Wednesday, the PML-N chief said that he, along with other parties, will go to court against collusion over caretaker setup in Sindh.

Nawaz said that impartial and neutral people should be brought forward for inclusion in the interim setup and warned of strong protest if people with political affiliation are nominated. He urged the Election Commission and judiciary to take notice of collusions in Sindh and Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the PML-N chief announced that Punjab Assembly would be dissolved today. He said that his party patiently passed the last five years to strengthen democracy.

Nawaz further said that in the past democratic governments was toppled by dictators before the completion of their terms. He said that all problems and challenges currently being faced by the country are the product of dictatorships.

The PML-N chief said that martial law is no way to resolve the problems but it is democracy which provides ultimate solution to the problems of the people and the country. He added that conspiracies were hatched against the democracy in the past.

Nawaz expressed hope that issue of nominating caretaker prime minister will be resolved through constitutional and democratic process.

The PML-N chief said that MQM parted ways with the government only a few days before the end of government’s terms.

PML-N received thousands of applications for awarding of tickets for the next general elections, he said.

On the occasion, he announced that a convention will be held at Model Town in Lahore on March 22 for the aspirants of party tickets.

Nawaz further said that we will not tolerate any attempt to rig the elections and will opt all options to ensure free and fair elections.
