LAHORE: Punjab Assembly will pick up its next Leader of the House as the session begins tomorrow at 11am.
The nomination papers for the highest post of the province, can be submitted by 5pm today. Later on, the scrutiny of the papers will be completed by 6pm.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Mehmoodur Rasheed yesterday filed nomination papers for the election of Chief Minister Punjab.
Shahbaz said he thanks Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) for favoring party chief Mian Nawaz Sharif for the premiership, adding he has no knowledge about Dr. Ishratul Ebad to be retained as Sindh governor.
Mehmoodur Rasheed said he will seek vote from every assembly members besides Pakistan People’s Party.
The PML-N’s Shahbaz made history in the life of Punjab Assembly by filing nomination papers with 13 proposers and the same number of seconders.
