LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has decided to send recommendations to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) for opening up of all industries, tourist destinations, restaurants, hotels, and marriage & cinema halls with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The decision was taken in a Special Meeting of the Punjab Cabinet Committee for Coronavirus Control held in Lahore on Tuesday under the directive of the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.
It was decided in principle to open industries, restaurants, marriage halls, and cinema theaters across the province with SOPs.
In addition, it was also decided to open gyms, indoor sports facilities, beauty salons, and clinics.
However, the NCOC will make the final decisions as per the recommendations of the Punjab government.
The NCOC will also take the decision regarding the reopening of Murree and other tourist destinations.
Other businesses related to the Construction Industry will also be opened in Punjab to boost economic activities.
Whereas in a bid to open the educational institutions across the province, another Special Meeting of the Cabinet Committee for Coronavirus Control will be held for consultations.
To date, a total of 93,336 people have tested positive for Coronavirus in Punjab while 2,153 have died of the disease.
However, 82,575 COVID-19 patients are now fully recovered.
In the last 24 hours, 139 people in Punjab were diagnosed as having Coronavirus infections and five people succumbed to the virus.
