LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government on Friday launched the “Ba Himmat Buzurg Program” worth Rs 2 billion for the people 65 years of age or above to help them meet their livelihood needs.
Under the “Ba Himmat Buzurg Program”, the elderly people particularly women will receive monthly Rs 2,000 as “Social Pension” by the Punjab government to cater their needs.
In a statement, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that they are determined to fulfill the dreams of Prime Minister Imran Khan to governor the State under rules and principles framed and exercised in the Riasat-e-Madina.

Initially, Rs 2 billion have been allocated for the Program spearheaded by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA), and it will benefit 125,000 people in Punjab who are not in receipt of other social assistance programs.
Under the Program, Rs 2,000 per month will be given to the beneficiaries having a poverty score below 20.
The registration process for the program’s beneficiaries will begin on November 23 and it will continue for next three months.
