LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has brushed aside the allegations reported in a media outlet into Rawalpindi/Islamabad Metro Bus Project and as referred by the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in a tweet on Wednesday, which say that the corruption and irregularities worth Rs 5 billion were revealed by the audit report of the project.

“Any probe in the Metros and Orange Train will reveal that the real reason for building these loss-making mega projects has always been massive kickbacks,” Imran Khan further said on his twitter account.

In response to allegations into the alleged irregularities in the project, the Punjab Government Spokesperson Malik Ahmad Khan said that in Lahore that allegations of corruption in Rawalpindi Metro Bus is another lie of Imran Khan.

The Punjab government spokesperson said that Imran Khan is in habit of starting his day with the meaningless statements.

Malik Ahmed Khan said that the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif’s transparency in the developmental projects is self-exemplary.

The spokesperson said that it should be better if Imran Khan focuses on serving the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa instead of levelling allegations. He said that the standard, rules and regulations were taken into account while initiating the Rawalpindi/Islamabad Metro Bus Project.
