BAHAWALPUR, Pakistan: The Punjab government plans to spend more than Rs 25 billion to expand and modernize road network infrastructure in 36 districts of the province.

This was stated by Provincial Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer while laying the foundation stone of 9.1 kilometers road project in Bahawalpur which would be completed with Rs 880 million.

“Chief Minister Punjab’s vision to modernize Punjab’s road network is aimed to meet the future requirements to ensure quick and effective road connectivity which would boost pace of socio economic development in the province”, Minister noted.

He said that in 3-years medium term development framework Rs 25 billion proposed allocation include Rs 7.9 billion for the current year; Rs 8 billion for the fiscal year 2017-18 and Rs 9 billion for the fiscal year 2018-19.
