LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Friday demanded strict action against Geo Entertainment network on alleged insult of Ahl-e-Bait during a morning show recently.
The opposition leader Mian Mehmood-ur Rashid presented a resolution in the house which the lawmakers passed, condemning controversial content in Geo morning show `Utho Jago Pakistan’.
An episode of the famous Geo Entertainment morning show ‘Utho Jago Pakistan’ aired on Wednesday contained blasphemous content that later prompted widespread condemnation and criticism.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) also served a show-cause notice on Geo TV for airing objectionable content in its morning show and sought immediate explanation from the channel.
