NOVO-OGARYOVO, Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday he would nominate his chief economic adviser, Elvira Nabiullina, as the head of central bank of Russia.

Elvira Nabiullina, a 49-year-old economist and former economy minister, served as country’s minister of economic development and trade of Russia since September 2007 before becoming Valdimir Putin’s economic adviser in May 1012.

Putin said that Nabiullina had vast experience working in the financial sector. His comments came during his meeting with existing head of central bank, Sergey Ignatyev, who is set to retire in June after 11 years in the post.
