ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has decided to appoint new Vice Chancellor (VC) for Islamabad-based Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) following the ongoing protest by the Academic Staff Association (ASA) for resignation of the existing VC Dr Javed Ashraf.
Vice Chancellor Quaid-e-Azam University Dr Javed Ashraf has requested the ministry of education to advertise the post of new VC QAU so that boycott of classes by the faculty members could be end, sources told the state-run news agency on Monday.
According to the advertisement, the maximum age limit for the post has been fixed as 65 years with PhD as minimum qualification while the applications for the appointment of new head will be received till April 17, 2018.
It is worth mentioning here that the tenure of present VC QAU would complete on October 13 of the current year but due to ongoing protest of the varsity academic staff, the VC decided to leave the post.
