ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that Quetta-Taftan Railway Section and its up gradation are imperative for Pak-Iran relations.
In a meeting held at the Ministry of Railways in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Hoonardost stressed upon importance of Quetta-Taftan Railway Section.
The railways minister totally agreed with the Iranian ambassador, and said that “Quetta-Taftan section is very imperative for relation between Pakistan and Iran”.
The minister further added that the up gradation of this railway section is also essential.

Both sides agreed on mutual cooperation in railways. They also agreed that for resolving railways issues between the two Countries a Technical Committee will be constituted.
During the meeting, the Secretary Railway Board Farrukh Taimur Ghilzai, the Director General Planning Mohammad Yusuf, and the Director General Technical Munawar Shah were also present.
