ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has appreciated the role and support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in developmental projects in Pakistan and achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
While talking to the Assistant Secretary-General and Director of UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Asia Pacific Kanni Wignaraja virtually on Thursday, the foreign minister said that achieving sustainable development goals and reduction of poverty ratio are included in the priorities of our government.
The foreign minister expressed the hope that the UNDP will expand its scope of projects to backward and rural areas of Pakistan.
Qureshi also appreciated the UNDP’s technical assistance in organizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Investment Fair 2021, and preparation of SDG Investor Map.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi further said that Pakistan is promoting economic diplomacy effectively and changed its geo-political priorities to geo-economic goals.
The UNDP Resident Representative Knut Ostby was also present during this mutual meeting.
