You must be looking for information on how to register your car from home when the incumbent government has initiated a number of measures to digitalize the entire system.
Now it seems that long gone will be the days when we had to rush to the government offices to get anything done.
With Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Digital Pakistan initiative, it seems that things are digitally improving in Pakistan for the better.
Now, Prime Minister Imran Khan has initiated a new vision of registering cars from door to door, hence facilitating the registration process for those residing in the federal capital -Islamabad.
How Will The Car Registration Work?
As per the Director Excise Islamabad Bilal Azam, a special helpline will be rolled out at which you will have to call the registration representatives.
The original teams that were previously registering your vehicle out of a government office will now visit your house in turn and help you with the registration.
You will also be provided with the number plates the same way.
This team will have representatives from both the Excise department and NADRA, so your credentials and taxes can all be sorted out in one meeting only.
You won’t have to visit the excise office and only this one visit by the officials will help you put your car registration in order.
Once the lockdown is completely over, the process will be set in motion and your registration will just be a call away.
What Documents Do You Need For Registration?
The government has eased the process of visiting the office for the registration but you will have to provide the same set of documents to register your car from home.
If the vehicle is locally manufactured and is registered, the following documents will be required:
- Application for registration of Vehicle – Form-F
- Copy of the CNIC of owner
- Original sales certificate of vehicle
- Original sales invoice of the vehicle
- Payment of registration fee, number plate fee, and other leviable taxes
If you have a locally manufactured unregistered vehicle, you will additionally require:
- Transfer Order Form
- CNIC of the Seller
- Documents proving sale of the vehicle by the original purchaser
For the residents in Islamabad, this service will be rolled out the day lockdown uplifts.
The government will reveal the helpline at which the registration call will have to be placed.
Hopefully, if this system proves to work out well in Islamabad, we will be seeing a mass implementation throughout Pakistan.
