Registration of COVID-19 vaccination for Citizens aged 65 starts in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Registering of Citizens aged 65 and above has started in Pakistan for the vaccination against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a statement on Monday, the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that the Registration can be done by sending the CNIC number on 1166 or visiting nims.nadra.gov.pk.

Asad Umar said that the vaccination of Citizens aged 65 and above will start next month.

Meanwhile, Pakistan recorded 1,048 new infections with a national positivity ratio of 3.27% and 26 deaths in the last 24 hours.

So far a total of 564,077 Coronavirus Cases have been detected in Pakistan and 12,333 COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the decease.

However, 525,997 patients across Pakistan have been recovered now whereas 25,747 still remain under treatment.

Earlier on February 3, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) simultaneously initiated the National Immunization Drive against COVID-19 across the Country, a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan formally launched the Country-wide Coronavirus Vaccination Campaign in Islamabad.

In the First Phase, the Front Line Healthcare Workers (FLHCWs) were vaccinated for COVID-19, and now the second Phase of vaccinating people above 65 years of age is about to start in March 2021.
