WANA, Pakistan: In what appears to be commendable move, the dwellers of the long-deprived district South Waziristan will get Sehat Insaf Cards from Thursday as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Speaking at a ceremony in Wana during his visit to South Waziristan on April 24, 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan promised that the government will provide Sehat Insaf Card to people of erstwhile FATA and each family can afford treatment up to worth Rs. 720,000 under Sehat Insaf Card.
It seems that the dream came true, as the distribution of the Sehat Insaf Cards will be finally started int the district South Waziristan from Thursday.
The Assistant Commissioner Wana Amir Nawaz on Tuesday visited Wana headquarters and reviewed the preparations made for the formal launch of Sehat Insaf Cards in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that preparations for the formal launch of Sehat Insaf Cards have been given finishing touch and eight booths have been set up in this regard which would be inaugurated on Thursday.
Amir Nawaz said that 168,000 people would be issued cards in the first phase for which officials are being properly trained in Tehsil Toi Khwla and cards would be issued to the residents from next week.

The Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on newly-merged tribal districts Ajmal Wazir, while addressing a youth convention by Individualland (IL) in Peshawar on July 24, 2019 on “Youth of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and all merged tribal districts from K-P”, said that the provincial government’s Sehat Sahulat Programme (SSP) should be irrespective of the recipient’s caste, creed, religion or political allegiance.
Ajmal Wazir said that to make distribution easier and to facilitate residents in the newly-merged districts (NMDs), they were working on extracting data from their computerized National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) identity cards (CNIC).
The adviser said that Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to assure the provision of all sorts of facilities, especially health and education to former residents of Fata areas.
The Assistant Commissioner Wana further said that the administration has divided the days so as to ensure hassle-free distribution of the Sehat Insaf Cards.
Amir Nawaz said that as per the set plan, Sehat Insaf Cards would be distributed among inhabitants of Wana tehsil and Shakkai tehsil on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; whereas, the people of Tehsil Barmal and Tehsil Tiarza people will be given Sehat Insaf Cards on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that the people of the trouble-hit area of South Waziristan have been passing through great ordeals due to the absence of basic health facilities and qualified doctors in the area due to which the people are left with no option but to shift their patients to adjacent districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa even for minor ailments.
