ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: State Minister for Interior Baligh-ur- Rehman on Thursday apprised the National Assembly that Rs 1210 million budget had been approved for National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) for the effective implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).
Replying to a question regarding allocations for National Action Plan in budget 2015-16, he said that implementation of most of the areas of NAP falls within purview of provincial governments and ministries/divisions of Federal Government.
He said that all 28 organizations were implementing NAP from within their own resources and allocated budget under the overall supervision of Apex Committees headed by Chief Ministers of respective Provinces.
“No budget or funds are specifically allocated for NAP, hence there is no question of less allocation”, he said.
The minister said that comprehensive efforts were being made at federal and provincial level to implement NAP across all parts of the country.
He said that overall law and order situation of Karachi and rest of the country had improved as result of effective implementation of NAP.
