ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 6th Session of Pakistan-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Denis Valentinovich led their respective sides in the talks.
During the talks, the two sides discussed ways and means to bolster Pakistan-Russian bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy, railways and communications.
The Russian trade minister expressed the commitment to expand cooperation with Pakistan in different sectors including the industrial sector.
Denis Valentinovich said that Pakistan Steel Mills was established with the cooperation of Russian experts. He said that we will extend cooperation to Pakistan to revive the Steel Mills and enhance its productivity.
The Russian delegation also expressed interest in building geological capacity of Pakistan apart from building the North South Gas Pipeline.
