Russia responsible for violence in eastern Ukraine, says US
Monitoring Desk: Russia is responsible for violence in eastern Ukraine, said Kurt Volker, the newly appointed U.S. special envoy to the Ukraine.
While visiting town of Kramatorsk, 690 km southeast of Kiev on Sunday, Volker declared that Ukrainian crisis is (was) a “hot war” rather than a “frozen conflict”.
It may be mentioned that over conflict in Eastern Ukraine caused death of over 10,000 people since 2014.
Reuters reported that U.S. special envoy to the Ukraine was of the view that Ukraine crises need to address as quickly as possible to avoid more causalities.
It may be mentioned that U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited Kiev in early July and met Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko for discussing modalities to bring peace in troubling eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine is facing economical meltdown due to constant war in its eastern parts where Russia is allegedly involved by providing military and financial support to so-called separatists. Ukrainian hryvnia (Ukrainian currency) was eight for each US dollar before Maidan Euro events that stands now over 26 Ukrainian hryvnia per US dollar.
It may be mentioned that Maidan Euro that is also known as Euromaidan was a series of demonstrations which began on the night of 21 November 2013 with public protests in Maidan Nezalezhnosti (“Independence Square”) in Kiev resulting in change of government in Ukraine by beginning of year 2014.
