ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia is desirous to the early launch of the North-South Gas Pipeline Project with Pakistan, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
While addressing the Joint Press Conference along with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday following delegation-level talks, Sergey Lavrov said that Russia wants to enhance the volume of bilateral trade with Pakistan.
The Russian foreign minister said that we have provided Pakistan 50,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, and intends to provide further 1,50,000 doses.
Lavrov said that Russia will continue to extend its cooperation to Pakistan with regard to COVID-19.
In his remarks, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that during the delegation levels talks, the two sides underlined the need of enhancing the Pakistan-Russia bilateral trade.
Qureshi said that Russia is an advanced Country in terms of health facilities. He said that we have registered the Russian Sputnik 5 vaccine, and it’s yielding positive results.
The foreign minister said that Pakistan is considering the local manufacturing of the COVID-19 vaccine in collaboration with Russia.
