TRIPOLI: One unknown gunmen was killed and four others injured in a retaliatory firing by security forces when they attacked the Russian Embassy in the Libyan capital Tripoli, Libyan officials said.
However, no embassy staff member was injured or killed in the incident.
The officials said that the a group of unknown attackers climbed over walls, broke down a metal gate and fired shots in the air before putting a part of the building on fire.
The attackers were apparently reacting to the killing of a Libyan air force pilot, who they claimed was murdered by a Russian woman.
