Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-L) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has challenged the victory of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in NA-131 Lahore-IX.
Saad Rafique has submitted application before the Returning Office (RO) to probe intentional cancelation of PML-N votes.
The PML-N leader demanded the recounting of votes as Imran Khan won by a close margin.
As per the result announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Imran Khan bagged 84213 votes from NA-131 whereas Saad Rafiqui took 83633 votes.
Reportedly, PTI’s Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa lost to an Independent Candidate Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa from NA-190 Dera Ghazi Khan-II. Zulfiqar Khosa was initially declared winner by receiving 71964 votes; however, Amjad Farooq Khosa who had secured 71854 votes eventually won the elections after the recounting.
Likewise, PTI’s Usman Dar has also decided to demand a recount in NA-73 Sialkot-II. From the Constituency, PML-N’s leader Khawaja Asif was declared winner with 116957 votes while Usman Dar remained runner up with 115464 votes.
In NA-21 Mardan-II, PTI’s Muhammad Atif will also go for recounting for votes as he took 78878 votes whereas his opponent Awami National Party’s (ANP) bagged 78911 votes.
