Mumbai, India:  Indian super star Salman Khan is booked for using derogatory remarks against Scheduled Caste community—- “bhangi”.

First Information Report (FIR) is registered with Andheri Police station of Mumbai Police on the complaint of Rojgar Aghari Republican Party of India.

FIR claims that  Khan used word “bhangi” in a derogatory way during a television show where actress Katrina Kaif was also present. If found guilty, Salam Khan would face imprisonment of five years as per law.

The complaint was lodged by Navin Ramchandra Lade who is General Secretary of Rojgar Aghari Republican Party of India.

According to FIR, “Salman along with Katrina Kaif on a TV show used the insulting word ‘bhangi’ against a member of the Scheduled Caste”. Complainant claims that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif committed offence under sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015, and Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955.”

Dalit community has boycotted film “Tiger Zinda Hai” which was released on Friday to protest against Salman Khan.

Meanwhile Salman Khan had already expressed his regrets stating that he never thought to hurt anybody during show and his expression was not taunting rather he was cracking a joke.
