BEIJING, China: The prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz held a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing and discussed a wide range of bilateral economic as well as security issues.
The meeting came ahead of the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process, to be hosted by China today (Friday).
During the meeting, the adviser said that Pakistan and China bilateral cooperation had deepened over the years and as strategic partners, both countries had a common stake in regional cooperation, peace and stability.
Sartaj Aziz complimented China on hosting the 4th Round of Istanbul Process. Pakistan and China agreed to intensify efforts to contribute towards peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The adviser said that both countries are further reinforcing linkages in various fields including energy, communications, infrastructure, trade and connectivity. The China-Pakistan economic cooperation had immense potential to promote economic wellbeing of the peoples of the two countries and the region.
