ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday restored the membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Ashraf Warraich as a member of the Punjab assembly.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Saqib Nisar issued the orders after hearing a petition filed by PML-N MPA pertaining to his suspension by an election tribunal due to allegations of rigging in the 2013 election.
Warraich was elected as a member of the provincial assembly from PP-97 Gujranwala on a PML-N ticket.
However in August this year, an election tribunal had suspended his membership on the application of opposition candidate.
