ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the all four provinces to hold legislation over ban on sheesha smoking centers.

The two-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the case over action against sheesha centers.

The counsel for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told the court that the provincial government had taken action against sheesha centers and closed two centers in Peshawar and Abbotabad. He said that FIRs were also registered against 170 sheesha centers in the provinces. He said that the provincial government also tabled bill in the provincial assembly to ban sheesha centers.

The counsel for Sindh Government submitted report before the bench and stated that the provincial government had arrested six persons for running sheesha centers.

Later, the court directed the provinces to hold legislation and adjourned hearing for two months.
