ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken suo moto notice on a taxi driver’s alleged killing by rangers’ firing in Karachi.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry has been formed to start hearing of the suo moto case of taxi driver’s killing tomorrow.

Earlier a couple of days ago, a taxi driver was allegedly killed by a ranger official’s firing in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.

The rangers on checking duty signaled a taxi driver, Murad, to stop for checking but he failed to stop the vehicle on their signal or what happened actually, it is not clear to anyone but after that rangers official opened fire and he expired on the spot.

Widow of the killed driver claimed that his husband was murdered in indiscriminate and unjust firing of the rangers.

She demanded justice through the media and now Supreme Court has taken the case into its custody on under suo moto notice to serve the justice.

Hearing of the case will start on Friday (today).
