BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Kyrgyz Counterpart Chingiz AIdarbekov in Bishkek on Tuesday and discussed the bilateral relations besides issues of mutual interest, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi is in the Kyrgyz Capital to attend the two-day meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries.

During the meeting, the Kyrgyz foreign minister welcomed Shah Mahmood Qureshi on his arrival in Bishkek.

The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction over the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. They agreed to extend the volume of Pak-Kyrgyz bilateral trade to US$ 10 million.

In addition, they also agreed to increase exchanges to further augment cooperation between the two sides.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi felicitated the Kyrgyz foreign minister on successfully arranging the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bishkek.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Faisal Niaz Tirmazi was also present in the meeting.

Earlier Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmazi and Senior Officials of Kyrgyzstan received the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi when he reached Bishkek to attend the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

The SCO Ministerial meeting will approve important documents, which will later be adopted by the Council of Heads of States meeting to be held in Bishkek next month.

Qureshi will deliver his remarks at the Plenary Session of the meeting.
