ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Second Governance Forum 2015 will be held on Thursday which is being considered as a step forward to create high performance and citizen focused governance.

The forum will review state of reforms, develop innovative solutions and recommend plans for accelerated implementation of reforms in various areas of the federal and provincial governments, said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

The event, being organized in collaboration with the UNDP, will be held at the Quaid-i-Azam Auditorium, Faisal Mosque Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), which will be addressed and attended by top bureaucrats and experts of governance and related areas.

The inaugural session will be addressed by Minister Planning, Development and Reform Prof Ahsan Iqbal, and he will speak on `Vision 2025 – Democratic governance, institutional reform and modernization of the public sector’. Secretary MoPD&R Yousuf Nasim Khokhar will discuss `Governance forum and citizen-centric governance’.

In the second session, secretary Establishment Division will speak on civil service reforms, secretary Interior on police and criminal justice system reforms, chairman Federal Board of Revenue on tax reforms, Secretary Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage on accountability, transparency and open governance, secretary Information Technology and Telecom on e-governance, secretary Federal Education and Professional Training on education sector reforms, secretary National Health Sciences, Regulation and Coordination on health sector reforms, secretary Board of Investment on investment climate: ease of doing business, chairman Capital Development Authority on Islamabad model city, secretary Interprovincial Coordination on effective local government, secretary PD&R on performance management systems in the public sector and Member (Governance MoPD&R) on service delivery and citizen charters.

The third session will focus on `Prioritising 2016 reform agenda’.

During this session, group discussion will be carried out and the concluding session will be addressed by Prof Ahsan Iqbal, while the note of thanks will be delivered by the Country Director UNDP.
