PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A landmine blast took place in Baizai tehsil of Mohmand agency on Monday morning, killing a security official.
The political administration said that the explosion occurred at Soran Shakor area of Baizai tehsil when the security forces were carrying out a search operation against the militants in the area.
IED blast leaves polio worker in injured
Separately, an improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred in Safi tehsil of Mohmand agency that left a polio worker Sanab Gul injured.
The sources said that the bomb was detonated by remote control in the Chamarkand area of Safi tehsil when the polio worker was on his way to attend a meeting on polio vaccination.
The injured polio worker was shifted to a nearby hospital where according to doctors, his condition was critical.
LEAs arrest two alleged members of banned outfit in Ziarat
In a separate incident, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) arrested two alleged members of a banned terrorist organization from Ziarat district of Balochistan on Monday.
The official sources said a large quantity of arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
Vehicle carrying arms, ammunition seized in Peshawar
Likewise, three persons including two women were arrested from Badaber area of Peshawar while carrying arms and ammunition in their vehicle.
The Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shakir Bangash said that 25 pistols, 2 G3 rifles, 5 Kalashnikov/AK-47 rifles and 7,200 rounds were recovered from the vehicle.
The SP said that they were carrying arms and ammunition from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab.
