ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Senate on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution that the last sermon (Khutbah) of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) should be made guiding principle of government’s policies.
The resolution presented by Senator Mamdullah said that last sermon of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was true essence of Islamic teachings and is guiding the Ummah on every aspect of life.
The resolutions also adds that guiding principles given in last sermon should also be highlighted to counter ongoing propaganda against Islam and Muslims.
Earlier, Senator Mushahidullah, Sajjid Mir, Khalda Parveen, Mir Kabir, Nasreen Jalil, Kalsoom Parveen and other senators highlighted the importance of Prophet’s last sermon for Muslims and society.
They said that the last message of Holy Prophet (PBUH) was still the guiding light for any society, even though the message was delivered a millennium and a half years ago.
Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that last sermon was inclusive of all bases of equality and justice and is an essence of the true message and philosophy of Islamic faith.
He said that the nation would celebrate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) with religious zeal to show their respect and love with Him.
The minister said that government, people and civil society had arranged various functions on eve of birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
